Permissions
Location Permission
(ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
Required to access WiFi network information such as SSID and device-specific network details supported by Android.
Without this permission:
• WiFi network name may not be available
• MAC address information may be limited by Android privacy restrictions
Display Over Other Apps
(SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)
Required for the Floating Speed Meter feature.
Without this permission:
• Floating speed window and live traffic charts cannot be displayed over other applications
Background Auto Start
(Device Dependent)
Required on certain device manufacturers to restart the speed monitoring service after it is stopped by device-specific battery management systems.
Without this permission:
• Floating speed monitoring may not restart automatically
Phone State
(READ_PHONE_STATE)
Required to detect network changes between WiFi and mobile data and display the active cellular carrier name when available.
Without this permission:
• Mobile network information may be limited
Post Notifications
Required to display the ongoing notification used by the network speed monitoring service.
Without this permission:
• Background speed monitoring may be interrupted by the Android system
